Generator fueling

Fueling for standby, job site and event generators, so your power stays on.

Fill up before the storm

Gas stations along the coast often run out of fuel before a storm. A generator with a full tank keeps you running through it.

How much fuel a generator uses

A mid-size generator powering a home or small office can empty its tank in about a day. A longer outage requires refueling, when fuel is hardest to find.

Generator fueling: common questions

When should I fuel my standby generator?

Before the storm. Gas stations in the area often run out a day or two ahead.

Do you deliver fuel during a power outage?

Yes. We recommend filling your generator while roads are still open.

How much fuel does a standby generator use?

Usually more than expected. A generator running through a long outage can empty its tank in about a day.

What fuel do generators take?

Most standby and large job site generators run on diesel, and dyed off-road diesel is legal in them. Smaller portable generators usually run on gasoline. Let us know which when you order.
